Stronger check: load the tool page first, then disconnect from the network before choosing the file. Already-loaded tool code can continue processing locally, but a first visit still needs the site assets.

Why some PDFs barely shrink

Text-heavy PDFs are often already compact, while scan/photo PDFs usually have more room to shrink. Lemmafour keeps the original when a compression candidate would be larger, so a 0 percent result can be the correct result.
