Local PDF tool - browser processing

Redact a payslip before sharing

Use secure redaction for payslip details you do not want a landlord, recruiter, or third party to see.

What the widget measures

The panel counts what leaves your browser after you choose a file. The site's own scripts and fonts load like any web page — what you will never see is a request carrying your PDF. Check it here, or open your browser's Network tab and see for yourself.

The number is scoped to request bodies after you choose a document. App assets such as JavaScript, WASM, and fonts can still load; those are not your PDF bytes.

Verify it yourself
  1. Open DevTools, then the Network tab.
  2. Choose a PDF in the tool and complete the action.
  3. Filter for fetch or XHR requests; document processing should not create a request carrying your file.

Stronger check: load the tool page first, then disconnect from the network before choosing the file. Already-loaded tool code can continue processing locally, but a first visit still needs the site assets.

Steps

How to do it in Lemmafour

  1. Choose Redact the payslip locally.
  2. Open the payslip PDF.
  3. Select Secure redaction in Redact mode.
  4. Drag over salary details, employee IDs, tax IDs, bank account fragments, addresses, and barcodes that are not needed.
  5. Apply redaction, confirm verification, export, and reopen the PDF before sharing.

Expert note

Payslip-specific hidden data

Payslips often include repeated IDs in headers, footers, QR codes, barcodes, metadata, and tiny text near payment tables. Redact all occurrences, not just the obvious net-pay line. If a barcode or QR code contains sensitive data, treat it as sensitive even when the printed numbers are removed.

FAQ

Questions people ask before using this tool

Should I redact the employer name?

Only if the recipient does not need it. Keep enough information to satisfy the request without exposing unnecessary data.

Can hidden metadata remain?

PDF metadata can exist separately from visible page text. Use sanitize options when appropriate and inspect the export.

Is drawing a black box enough?

No. Use Secure redaction for sensitive payslip data, not visual whiteout.
